Copperbelt University Invites Bids from eligible firms to Conduct a Valuation of Fixed Assets 2020

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST – REVALUATION OF FIXED ASSETS FOR THE YEAR 2020

The CopperbeltUniversity (CBU) is a public institution with the mandate of producing graduates for the labour market both within and beyond the borders of Zambia. 

The Copperbelt University now invites bids from eligible firms to conduct a valuation of fixed assets of the institution. This expression is issued under the Open National Selection process as contained in section 26 of the Zambia Public Procurement (ZPPA) Act No.12 of 2008.

Scope of Work

The scope of work will include the following:

  • Valuation of land and Buildings on the university main campus and other campuses (School of Medicine, Kapasa Makasa & Post graduate). The valuation of buildings should clearly reflect the split values of segmented structures.
  • Valuation of all moveable assets (at all the campuses mentioned above.

Eligibility Criteria

Interested eligible firms must provide capability statements indicating that they are qualified to undertake the services. More specifically, the capacity statement must demonstrate as a minimum the following qualifications and experience:

1. Proven experience in undertaking assignments of similar nature

2. Appropriate skills for team members accompanied by detailed curriculum Vita (CVs) and hold a valid full audit practicing license from Engineering Institute of Zambia 

3. Registration with appropriate bodies i.e. Engineering Institute of Zambia, Zambia Revenue Authority, National Pension Scheme Authority and Workers Compensation Fund Control Board.

4) Company profile, which should include organizational Track Record, experience and staff structure

Interested eligible firms meeting the above criteria should provide three (3) copies of detailed technical and financial proposals for the provision of Fixed Asset revaluation services.

Detailed Terms of Reference (TORs) can be obtained from the University Website at www.cbu.edu.zm

The expressions of interest properly bound clearly marked: “EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FOR THE CONSULTING SERVICES  VALUATION OF FIXED ASSETS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31st December 2020 FOR COPPERBELT UNIVERSITY ” must be deposited in the Tender Box at the Copperbelt University Procurement Office stationed at Riverside Campus Site Six, P.O.BOX 21692 not later than 26 November,2020 at 14:00 hours.

The closing date for the receipt of bids is 26 November, 2020 at 14:00 hours local time and any applications received after the time and date stipulated above shall not be accepted .The applications shall be opened soon after closing in the University Council Chamber in the presence of applicants or representatives who choose to attend.

Expressions of interest should be addressed and delivered to the address above in hard copy only, Telefax and /or electronic expressions of interest shall not be accepted. Only short listed firms will be contacted.

The scope of work for the asset revaluation exercise that is as follows:

  1. Property
  2. Main Campus, Plot 4662 Jambo Drive – Land and buildings on campus.
  3. Plot 2015 Jambo Drive (Chapel Building)
  4. Residential properties – the Vice Chancellor’s residence plot number 2484 Kuomboka drive, Chinyuyu Guest House plot number 5337 Chinyuyu Close, Plot 5243 Kaminda Drive and Plot number 5880 Lulamba Drive.
  5. Kamfinsa Land
  • The valuation of buildings should clearly state reflect split values of segmented structures.
  • Moveable Assets
  • Equipment and machinery – The valuation should reflect the make and value
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Gowns
  • Office furniture and fixtures
  • Office equipment mainly desk computers and laptop

The valuation of I.T. Equipment must reflect:                                                                                                                                           

  1. Make of equipment
  2. Value
  3. Value of network cables/accessories per individual segment
  • Kapasa Makasa Campus

The valuation of assets at Kapasa Makasa will include;

  1. Land building at the campus
  2. Equipment and machinery
  3. Office equipment mainly desktop computers and laptops
  4. Office furniture and fixtures
  • School of Medicine and Post Graduate Campuses

The valuation of assets at both School of Medicine and Post Graduate Campuses will include;

  • Land building at the campus
  • Equipment and machinery
  • Office equipment mainly desktop computers and laptops
  • Office furniture and fixtures
