EXTENSION OF REGISTRATION PERIOD FOR EXAMINATIONS The Malawi National Examinations Board ( MANEB) is informing all that deadline for registration of candidates and payment of examination fees for Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education ( PSLCE), Junior Certificate of Education( JCE) and Malawi School Certificate of Education( MSCE) examination has been extended to 8th April. The extension is in response to the revised school calendar.

MANEB TRAINS ZOMBA URBAN AND RURAL SCHOOLS ON E-REGISTRATION MANEB is piloting e-registration of candidates for PSLCE, JCE and MSCE examinations in Zomba Urban and Rural. In this regard, MANEB is training teachers from the two education districts on the use of the e-platform for registering candidates and payment of examination fees.

The system will help address a number of challenges encountered by candidates, such as misappropriation of fees by some untrustworthy school administrators, errors on examination results sheets caused by wrong capturing of the candidates’ details and wrong subject entries on examination attendance registers.

REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES FOR EXAMINATIONS This is to inform all that registration of candidates for PSLCE, JCE and MSCE examinations in all MANEB registered examination centres starts on 22nd February and ends on 8th March.

The Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) Examination is the final examination at the secondary school level in Malawi. Learners who pass this examination qualify for selection into public and private colleges and universities or get absorbed into the job market.

Candidates who pass this examination are awarded with a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).

Conditions for the award of MSCE

Candidates are awarded the MSCE if they satisfy one of the following conditions:

either

a.    Obtain a pass in six subjects, including English, with at least one distinction/credit,

or

b.    Obtaining a pass in five subjects, including English, with at least three distinctions/credits.
