FACULTY OF EDUCATION
The Faculty of Education was established in 1939 as the Nazarene Teacher Training College. In 2010 when SANU was established it was merged with the other colleges of the Church of the Nazarene and renamed to Faculty of Education.
The Faculty is based in the Manzini Campus. Below are some of the programmes offered by the Faculty of the Academic Year.

PRIMARY TEACHERS’ DIPLOMA (PTD)
Overview of the Programme
The PTD programme is intended to give prospective primary school teachers the required competence in pedagogy, subject matter and supervised teaching practice to equip graduates for the teaching profession.
Admission Requirements
Minimum four (4) credits & two (2) passes in subjects taught at the primary school level.
Minimum 32 points
Certificate in Education or equivalent
Duration
The PTD is a three (3) year programme, studied, on a full-time basis.

Teacher private and public primary schools.

EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE & DEVELOPMENT DIPLOMA (FOUNDATION PHASE) – ECCD FP
There will be no intake for the ECCD programme in the 2021-2022 Academic Year.
BACHELOR OF EDUCATION IN LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION (B.ED LMIE)
Overview of the Programme. The B. Ed LMIE is a programme of study intended for Principals and Deputy Principals or prospective leaders who wish
to embrace children with special needs as they lead schools. This programme seeks to produce administrators, competent in understanding special needs in the special and mainstream schools as well as understanding school finances.

This is a three (3) year programme of study delivered through a mixed mode, i.e. part-time and block. Part-time lectures run on Saturdays and block lectures run during the week when schools are closed.

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION IN SPECIAL & INCLUSIVE EDUCATION (B.ED. SIE)
Overview of the Programme
The B.Ed. The SIE programme raises awareness of special needs in learners and gives introductory scientific knowledge and
skills on how to teach learners with different needs in the classroom. It seeks to produce teachers highly competent in all impairments.

FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES
The Faculty of Health Sciences (then Nazarene College of Nursing) traces its heritage to the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial.
The hospital was founded by Dr David Hynd, the first superintendent in 1927. Training of nurses in Swaziland began at the Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital in 1928. In 1956, a building of the Nazarene College of Nursing was constructed. This college was also merged with the other colleges of the Church of the Nazarene in 2010 when SANU was established and was renamed to the Faculty of Health Sciences. The Faculty is in the Manzini Campus and offers the programmes below.
DIPLOMA IN PHARMACY
Overview of the Programme
This programme is designed to give students a firm foundation in the areas of pharmaceutical sciences such as pharmacology, patient care and drug delivery systems and many more. Students will be trained to analyze problems and think of creative solutions through hands-on training, case studies and projects.
Admission Requirements
Minimum of five (5) credits, incl. English, Maths, 2 Sciences
Minimum 32 points
Certificate in Pharmacy
Duration
The programme is studied over a three (3) year period or 6 semesters, on a full-time basis

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING & MIDWIFERY
Overview of the Programme
This programme is designed to prepare competent, self-directed, Christ-like nurses and midwives to provide holistic care and quality health services in urban, semi-urban and rural communities.

Minimum six (6) credits, incl. English, Maths, 2 Sciences
Minimum 38 points
Diploma in General Nursing
Duration
This programme is studied over a four (4) year period or eight (8) semesters on a full-time basis.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES
Overview of the Programme
This programme is designed to prepare Laboratory professionals to proficiently conduct testing in clinical laboratories. Its main focus is on the development of competencies, professional attributes, ethical & compassion, and Managerial skills.
Admission Requirements
Minimum six (6) credits, incl. English, Maths, 2 Sciences
Minimum 36 points
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences
Duration
This degree is studied over a period of four (4) years or 8 semesters on a full-time basis.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN NURSING ANAESTHESIA
Overview of the Programme
This programme is designed to equip students (already qualified and registered as Nurses) with advanced Anaesthesia
knowledge, skills and competencies to provide high-quality Anaesthesia services in public and private facilities.
Admission Requirements
Diploma in general nursing or a Post Graduate Certificate in Midwifery Nursing Sciences or an equivalent
Two years of working experience.
Duration
This programme is done over a period of two (2) years or four (4) semesters on a full-time basis.
Career Opportunities
Registered Nurse Anaesthetists in public and private health care facilities.

FACULTY OF THEOLOGY
The Nazarene College of Theology (NCT) is the oldest theological training institution of the Church of the Nazarene in Africa. Its primary function has been and continues to be the preparation of persons for the Christian ministry. NCT is the direct result of the Church of the Nazarene missionary efforts in Africa by the Rev. H. Schmelzenbach. This work was begun in the northwest part of the Kingdom of Swaziland in 1910. From 1912 until 1931 the college was situated in the northwestern part of the country and in 1935 the campus was moved to a four-hundred-acre site in Siteki in the eastern part of the Kingdom on the Lubombo Mountain range.
The Faculty houses two departments, which are; the Department of Business Management and the Department of Theology.
DEPARTMENT OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & ENTREPRENEURSHIP
The Department of Business Management & Entrepreneurship currently offers a Diploma in Business Management & Entrepreneurship.

This programme is designed to equip students with business management and entrepreneurship skills.
Entry Requirements
Minimum of four (4) credits & two (2) passes (English, Mathematics, two commercial subjects).
Or SANU’s Business Incubation Program certificate at 70% plus a pass
Or any Business Qualification at Certificate Level from a recognized institution.
Minimum 32 Points
Duration
Three (3) years on a full-time basis.

DEPARTMENT OF THEOLOGY
Bachelor of Theology
Overview of the Programme
The program aims to produce competent theologians, who embody character and integrity; who will be prepared to meet the challenges of their time and make a positive difference in their communities. It tackles advanced theoretical and research aspects in theology and the biblical truth and prepares ministers for service in the church by equipping them intellectually, socially and spiritually.

Admission Requirements
Six (6) credit passes
Mature age entry – candidates must be above 25 years, have attended and completed a course of study in the last 10 years at an institution recognized by the university.
Duration
The programme is studied over a four (4) year period or 8 semesters, in flexible evening classes.
Diploma in Theology
Overview of the Programme
The program is designed to enrich students’ understanding of theological and biblical truth and affords the ability to effectively communicate the gospel truth with confidence and integrity. It also enables them to lead, teach, counsel, and preach with an understanding of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Lastly, it prepares students to face the challenge of theological debate and proper exegesis.
Admission Requirements
A minimum of three (3) passes at C grade or better in any three subjects including English.
The applicant must be at least eighteen (18) years with two or more years of active involvement in a local church.
Duration
The programme is studied over a three (3) year period or six (6) semesters in flexible evening classes.
CERTIFICATE IN PASTORAL MINISTRY (CPM)
Overview of the Programme
This programme is designed for aspiring Ministers who have not completed high school. It will equip them with the foundations of Pastoral Ministry to nurture Christian maturity, ethical conduct and rich interpersonal relationships.
Students will develop presentation skills by engaging in oral and written communication. During the practicum, they will be exposed to various pastoral skills.
Admission Requirements
An applicant must:
Have the desire to study the Bible and Pastoral Ministry.
Be able to read and write English/SiSwati.
Be in good mental health.
Obtain references from the pastor of the church which holds their membership, the committee/board of the local Church, the employer or head of the last school attended and a personal recommendation.
Duration
The minimum duration for this programme is three (3) years of study on a full-time basis.

Open Day
The University hosts an Open Day in the Manzini Campus to mark the beginning of the admission process. Due to Covid 19 regulations, the Open Day is hosted online for the 2021-2020 intake.
The Open Day has been announced on other media including the University website and Facebook page.
While attendance of the Open Day is not compulsory, those who attend it are able to get thorough guidance on their career choices
Application Dates
Applications will be open between March to April.
Application Fee
Qualifying students should first pay the application fee before filling out the application form
This is because you will have to attach scanned proof of payment as you fill out the form; otherwise it will not allow you to progress past that stage.
The application fee is E370.00 for SADC residents. Our current is equivalent to South Africa Rand. Non-SADC residents are required to pay E740.00.
Refer to FEE STRUCTURE for other fees. Other fees include Tuition, late application fee, acceptance fee, caution fee, and late registration fee, to name a few. These are also contained in the fee structure

Scholarship information
The University does not offer scholarships currently.
Currently, the Government of Eswatini sponsors; all health programs except for BSc. Nursing Anaesthesia, Primary Teachers’ Diploma and the Diploma in Business Management & Entrepreneurship
We have a growing number of students who pay for themselves or are paid for by private sponsors.
Accommodation
The University offers accommodation in both the Manzini & Siteki Campuses
