It is with unmistakable pride that the Examinations Council of Lesotho brings to the General Public’s attention the fact that the October/November High School Leaving Examinations mark the inaugural sitting of the new and localized Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education curriculum. This is a milestone in which Lesotho takes great pride as it symbolizes the culmination of the relentless efforts from all stakeholders to ensure that this significant stride in the advancement of Education as a whole becomes a reality.

PSLE Results: Examinations Council of Lesotho Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results will be announced in the First week of December.

PSLE Results :

Lesotho has a 7-3-2 formal education structure. The primary school has an official entry age of six and a duration of seven grades. Students sit for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) at the end of grade 7. Examinations Council of Lesotho (ECOL) is a non-profit making organization, which is responsible for conducting PSLE examinations and publishing PSLE results.

The main objective of the PLSE exam is improved excellence in assessing the quality of educational performance from the beginning i.e. Primary schools.

How to get Lesotho PSLE Results:

There are many ways to get the PSLE Lesotho Results. First, wait for the Hon. Minister’s press conference about the exact date of release. Generally, PSLE Results are released in the month of December every year. Once it’s published students/parents can collect the results in the following ways.

PSLE Results: Performance

In 2016 total of 40,043 candidates registered for the examination, of these, 38,452 appeared for the examinations, while 1,591 did not turn up for the examinations. Of the 38,452 candidates who sat for the 2016 PSLE examinations:

6,182 (16.1%) obtained a 1st class pass. This marks an increase of 2.4 % from the performance observed in 2015. 10,162 (26.4%) obtained a 2nd class pass. This number has increased by 0.5% from the 2015 results.

17, 234 (44.8%) obtained a 3rd class pass. This reflects a decrease of 2.9% in comparison with the 2015 results. 4,874 (12.7%) could not meet the minimum requirements for a pass. This indicates an increase of 0.5% from the performance observed last year.
