Your grades are important, but your work experience, co-curricular activities, and passion for your chosen field are just as important. If shortlisted, you’ll be called in for an interview. Come armed with ideas and enthusiasm.

  5. Other Local Diplomas

  7. Programme-Specific Requirements

Health Requirements

We adopt a fair and inclusive approach to applicants, regardless of disabilities or medical challenges faced. Please disclose any relevant medical information when applying, so we may accommodate and support you throughout your time in campus.

All admitted students must take a medical examination and be certified as physically and mentally fit for your chosen programme. Learn more about Special Medical Conditions and Mandatory Medical Clearance for Health Sciences students.

International Baccalaureate

Applicants submitting the International Baccalaureate Diploma must fulfil the following requirements:

  • Obtain a grade five in at least two Higher Level (HL) and one Standard Level (SL) subjects
  • Obtain the IB Diploma

In addition, applicants must meet one of the following Mother Tongue Language (MTL) requirements:

  • A minimum pass grade for HL/SL MTL A: Literature
  • A minimum pass grade for HL/SL MTL A: Language and Literature
  • A minimum pass grade for HL/SL Language B
  • A minimum D7 for the higher MTL paper taken at the ‘O’ Level examination

For those who are exempted from MTL, the MOE-approved subject-in-lieu will be considered as their MTL subject. Those who have not fulfilled the MTL requirement may still apply for admission. Their application will be reviewed without prejudice. However, if accepted, they will be required to (i) attain any of the minimum requirements as a private candidate, or (ii) attend equivalent courses conducted by pre-approved language schools before being allowed to graduate.

Applicants who have been away from Singapore’s school system for a few years and have not kept up with the study of their MTL or a language that can be offered as MTL-in-lieu may apply for MTL exemption. The MTL exemption application will be facilitated by universities as part of the university application, and the results made known to applicants who receive admission offers from the university. Please note that MOE does not accept direct applications for MTL exemption. The application for MTL exemption will also not affect the evaluation of the application for a place in the university.

Adult Learners

In line with SIT’s holistic and aptitude-based approach in assessing applicants for admission, the university duly takes into consideration relevant work experience of significant duration. As such, SIT will admit adult learners, alongside fresh school leavers, to our undergraduate programmes.

Aspiring adult learners who do not meet SIT’s minimum academic threshold marginally, but have impressive work experience and records, may be considered fairly under SIT’s aptitude-based admissions process. This allows a second chance for candidates who may not have excelled in the polytechnic, junior college, or other educational institutions, but have since done very well in real-work situations.
