University of Botswana Application for Re-Admission and Transfer – Undergraduate Study in January 2022

Former undergraduate students, who have been away from the University for a period less than 10 semesters (five academic years), are invited to apply in order to enroll in January 2022.This includes former students who previously withdrew with/without due notice; failed and discontinued/excluded; enrolment terminated; and have been away from the University for at least one semester.

Students in other academic institutions who wish to transfer to UB, are also informed that they may apply to enroll in January 2022, provided they have completed and passed at least one year of their undergraduate study programme.

Prospective applicants are to make their applications online through the ‘’STUDY” link and may use any internet facility available to them.

Step-By-Step Guide on online application is available online and also as a hardcopy which can be obtained from UB Undergraduate Admissions Office at Main Campus in Gaborone.

In processing applications for January 2022 intake, UB would like prospective applicants to take note of the following:

  • Application period is from 15th November 2021 to 17th December 2021
  • Applications will be processed to determine eligibility, the outcome of which will be communicated to the applicants accordingly.
  • Prospective applicants should ensure that they provide their correct email address and mobile number as the outcome of their applications will be communicated through such means.

Application for undergraduate admission

Application process for admission into undergraduate study programmes for August 2021 is open until 31st July 2021.

On-line Application:

University of Botswana has an on-line application system whereby prospective applicants can apply on-line wherever they are.  All prospective applicants are therefore expected to make their applications online through the “STUDY” link. Prospective applicants may use any Internet facility available to them to apply.  A guide in the form of a booklet, entitled “ONLINE APPLICATION: A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE”, on how to complete an application online is provided through the “STUDY” link.

Applicants with Disability:

Submission of Applications:

Prospective applicants are to submit their applications mainly online and may use any Internet facility available to them to submit their applications.

Application Fee

Prospective applicants are encouraged to pay their Application Fee online (https://www.ub.bw/ubpayments) or at the Banks and should write their full names and IDs as reference on the deposit slip.  

Changes:

Applicants may make changes to their study choices through a letter to Undergraduate Admissions Office. 

Admission Processing:

Applicants who meet the set programme entry requirements will be admitted based on academic merit depending on the availability of space.  Meeting the minimum entry requirements therefore does not guarantee admission.

Closing date:

The Application processes for August 2021 entry for both local and international applicants close on 31st July 2021.

    • Application fee receipt (pay a non-refundable Application Fee listed under Schedule of Fees, View Schedule of Fees which is payable into the UB bank accounts listed under Financial Procedures or UB Cash Office)
    • Certified copy of the Senior Secondary School Certificate or Statement of Results (School Leavers)
    • Certified copies of Transcript(s) and or Certificate(s) for those applyinf for Upper Levels, Transfers and Re-Admission
    • Certified copy of National Identity Card (Omang) / Passport (Omang for citizens)

Tracking your Application

  • Once you have applied and have received the acknowledgement letter, you may use the login details on such a letter to track the process of your application. To do that navigate to the login screen and login using the details given on the acknowledgement letter. Navigate by clicking Main Menu, then Student Admissions, then Self Service and Student Centre.

Making Changes
