Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons who are staff of this University for the following positions in the University:
- LIBRARY ASSISTANT
Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold, at least, a Diploma in Library/Archives/Information Studies awarded by a recognised university. Some relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
- Be computer literate.
Duties
These will include but not limited to the following:
- Assisting in the running of a section in the University Library
- Shelving of books
- Cutting and labelling of books
- Entering bibliographic records
- Assisting at the reference desk
- Performing other duties assigned by the University Librarian or her representative
2. HALL ASSISTANT
Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold, at least, a Diploma in Public or Social Administration or Management from a recognised university. Some relevant work experience will be an added advantage
- Be computer literate
Duties
These will include but not limited to the following:
- Giving first aid to students and staff and rushing those with serious cases to hospital
- Ensuring the security of hall and students’ property
- Maintaining records of students in and out of residence
- Performing other duties assigned by the Hall Master/Warden or by any other person appointed to act on his/her behalf
3. PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT
Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold, at least, HND in Procurement/Purchasing & Supply awarded by a recognised university. Some relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.
Duties
These will include but not limited to the following:
- Assisting in the preparation of yearly procurement plan
- Preparing and maintaining procurement documentation according to procedures prescribed in the Public Procurement Act 663, 2003 as amended
- Assisting in the evaluation of tenders and preparation of evaluation reports and awards and signing of contracts
- Drafting of solicitation document
- Assisting in organizing tender openings, pre-tender conference and all associated protocols
- Assisting in conducting market research and open market purchases where necessary
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Logistics Director or his representative
4. ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT
Qualification
Applicants must:
- Hold, at least, a Diploma/HND in Accounting awarded by a recognised university. Some relevant work experience will be an added advantage.
- Be computer literate.
Duties
These will include but not limited to the following:
- Preparing statements of accounts
- Checking and verifying accounts
- Reconciling bank statements
- Attending to relevant correspondence
- Performing other duties assigned by the Director of Finance or his representative
