MDUMEZULU MTB CHALLENGE ON JULY 23

MALKERNS – The second edition of the Mdumezulu Charity MTB Challenge will be held on July 23 at Mdumezulu.
The fourth MTB series, under the Cycling Association of Swaziland (CAS), will comprise a 50km, 25km and 5km for children.
Cyclists will this weekend compete in the third edition of the series in the Engen Ngwenya Glass MTB Classic.
The race, which attracted about 115 cyclists in its first edition, was officially launched yesterday at Malandela’s Restaurant, Malkerns by Litsemba Lemdumezulu Charity Organisation’s Joel Shilubane, CAS President Mandla Simelane and sponsors’ representatives, Mbabane Motors’ Brett Foss and AON’s Mzamo Dlamini.
The start and finish of the race will be at the Mdumezulu Royal Residence. CAS President Mandla Dlamini said they are confident that this year they will hosts a bigger and better event.  “The Mdumezulu Challenge is unique race. It starts and ends at the royal residence and also the route are different from the rest. Last year, we had cyclists from Mozambique attending the race and we hope even this time around they will come and be part of it,” he said.
Some of the sponsors for this year’s event include Logico, Print Pak, AON, Mbabane Motors, Total Swaziland, Inyatsi, SWAKI, Unitrans and CAS.  “The support we got from the community and the chief was marvellous. It is that support that gave us the courage to continue hosting the race and it is now under our MTB series,” he said.
