Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced Academic/Research staff for the position of Programmes Coordinator at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR). The successful candidate will be appointed for a two year contract.
The Programmes Coordinator will be the overall in-charge for the programmes office which strategically supports the implementation of the University Strategic plan by coordinating activities of donor funded and multinational government programmes and or projects. Currently PCO is implementing the following programmes: Capacity Building for Managing Climate Change (CABMACC), Infrastructure Development Capacity, Transformation for Widening Access and Improved Perfomance (TWAIP), and the LUANAR-Michigan State University Innovations Hub.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, the Programmes Coordinator shall be responsible for:
a) Coordinating the development of project proposals and submitting them for funding to donors and Government Departments
b) Sourcing information, call for proposals and assisting Faculty teams to prepare and submit project proposals
c) Organizing research and outreach project results dissemination seminars
d) Developing project management systems and monitoring their implementation and performance
e) Coordinating CABMACC, TWAIP and other programmes and activities
f) Providing overall supervision and running of the programmes secretariat
g) Ensuring timely submission of projects financial statements of receipts and expenditure
h) Teaching assigned courses in the area of competency
i) Performing any other related duties assigned by the University Management
QUALIFICATIONS
Eligible candidates must have MSc or PhD in Agriculture or related field with a proven track record in research and teaching in an academic institution.
