MLW Training, Internships And Opportunities 2018 / 2019

At MLW we aim to provide a vibrant environment where we train, support and mentor the next generation of research leaders. We are interested to support motivated, promising candidates who want to explore their interests in malaria research, develop specific research skills, gain valuable experience and aim to develop and establish their research careers.
 
We frequently have funded MSc or PhD training options available but also offer research internships across different disciplines, including epidemiology, spatial statistics, clinical research, parasitology, parasite and vector genomics, pharmaco-epidemiology, vector biology, health economics and research management. Our links with the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine  and other collaborating institutes offers further opportunities for collaboration with a large number of world-class malaria scientists.
 
We aim to develop internships that combine the interests of the intern with the strategic interests of the malaria research theme. Currently available internship opportunities include:
 
Research internships
An Internship is a period of work undertaken by a student or recent graduate who is attached to a project or department within MLW. We frequently have opportunities for two types:

  1. Internships for students and volunteers – These are internships offered to students, volunteers or fresh graduates. They may take a minimum of four weeks and may go up to a maximum of 6 months. Interns will be paid nominal allowances to cover meals and transport.
  2. Work Placement Internships – Work placement Internships are offered to candidates who are at a Masters, Post Graduate level or Post Degree with considerable experience. These will be for periods from 3 to 12 months. They are part time engagements with a contract with clear deliverables.
