Mzuzu University Scholarship Application for 2020-2021 Academic Year

Mzuzu University, through the Department of Water Resources Management and Development in partnership with IHE Delft of the Netherlands, has secured funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates
Foundation to roll out the IHE Delft Graduate Professional Diploma Program and short courses (certificate) in Sanitation as part of the Global Sanitation Graduate School. The program focuses on nonsewer approach to the sanitation challenge in line with the global trends. It takes a holistic approach to tackle global sanitation challenges.

The Global Sanitation Graduate School is a platform that facilitates the development and empowers dissemination of knowledge on sanitation through online (self-study and instructor-led ) courses, face to face (on-campus) courses and tailor-made training so that the sanitation challenges can be embraced with deeper insight, advanced knowledge, and greater confidence. It also provides an enabling environment with a vibrant community of professionals who have completed one or more educational or training courses offered by its member institutions. The Global Sanitation Graduate School also offers a variety of courses and course materials specific to country context.

Mzuzu University invites applicants to enroll for courses to be offered in the 2019/2020 calendar. The courses include (1) Graduate Professional Diploma Program (GPDP) in Sanitation, (2) Short Courses in
Sanitation. The programs target talented and ambitious young and mid-carrier sanitation professionals, working in the water supply industry, sewage companies, public health sector, municipal councils,
governments departments and ministries, NGOs, and consulting firms. Ideally, the target individuals should be dealing with urban and peri-urban sanitation, especially in informal settlements.
