APPROVED REFORMS FOR MALAWI COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES
Malawi College of Health Sciences is a Parastatal organisation with its Central Office in Lilongwe and Campuses in Blantyre, Zomba and Lilongwe.  The College is primarily engaged in the training of health workers.  The College was created by the Education (Malawi College of Health Sciences) (Board of Governors) Order of 1996 under Section 29 of the Education Act.
Malawi College of Health Sciences is pleased to inform its stakeholders and the general public that following its discussions with the Public Service Reforms Commission in October 2015, it has pleased the State President of the Republic of Malawi, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, to grant approval for the implementation of various reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of service delivery by the College.
The following are the approved reforms:

  1. Student training quality improvement initiative
  2. Affiliating the College to other Universities
  3. Transfer of College infrastructure to Board of Governors

Among other merits, the affiliation of the College to other Universities will enable the College to start offering Degree Courses while the student training quality improvement initiative will enable the College improve the quality of training offered.
The Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Board Members, Management and Staff of Malawi College of Health Sciences would therefore, like to sincerely thank His Excellency the State President, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, the Vice President of the Republic of Malawi, who is also the Chairperson of the Public Service Reforms Commission, the Right Honourable Dr . Saulos Claus Chilima for the approved reforms and their commitment towards the development of human resources for health in Malawi.
