Robbers steal K4.2mil from Mangochi NBS Bank

Unidentified robbers ransacked and robbed NBS Bank Mangochi Branch of K4.2million, police have confirmed.

Mangochi Police Station Public Relations Officer, Inspector Rodrick Maida said  the incident happened on August 18 when the thugs broke into the bank’s premises.
“The cash was stacked into the ATM. The criminals stormed the bank premises and tied security guards with ropes before proceeding into the Bank through the back door,” Maida said.
He said first counting of the stolen money indicated that close to K4.2 million had been looted.
According to Maida, the police have launched an investigation to bring the culprits to book.
Robbers have of late terrorized business as well as residential premises within and around Mangochi town.
