MUST 2016 Mature Entry Programmes

MATURE ENTRY ADMISSIONS INTO THE UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES FOR 2016 ACADEMIC YEAR
The Malawi University of Science and Technology is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates (both female and male) to pursue the following engineering programmes in the 2016 academic year as Mature Entry candidates. The successful candidates will start from the second year.

PROGRAMME DURATION
1 Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) – Chemical Engineering 4 Years
2 Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) – Metallurgy and Materials  Engineering 4 Years
3 Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) – Biomedical Engineering 4 Years
4 Bachelor of Science in Earth Sciences 3 Years
5 Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Climate 3 Years

Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
a)A Malawi School Certificate of Education or its equivalent ‘O’ level qualification with at least four (4) credits including Mathematics, Physical Science (or Physics and Chemistry)      and Biology with credit score of not more than 5 points in each of the above subjects. In addition, for BSc in Earth Sciences and BSc in Meteorology and Climate Science,              candidates must have a credit in Geography. Plus
b)A relevant Diploma or Advanced Diploma from accredited Science and Engineering programmes of a recognised institution of higher learning.
OR
c)A-Level with a three subject combination of any of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology with a minimum grade of ‘C’ in each of these three subjects.
Candidates may be required to take additional first year modules wherever necessary.
Fees
Tuition fees payable to MUST are as follows:
a)Malawian students K360,000 per academic year;
b)Foreign students from SADC countries US$2,200 per academic year;
c)All other foreign students US$3,000 per academic year.
Other Costs for Undergraduates
Residence Fees: K60,000 per year
Medical insurance: To be advised
Living expenses approximately K450,000 per year
Applications for all programmes should include:
1.A completed undergraduate application which can either be collected in person from MUST Registry Office or on written request or can be down loaded from the following              website: must.ac.mw
2.Authenticated copies of academic certificates or notification of results.
3.An original bank deposit slip of a non-refundable application fee of K3,500 for Malawians and $50 for all non-Malawians. Payment of application fee should be made into the          bank account provided below:
